How to Activate Your Soil

This soil guide is based on growing 5 plants in pots of 20-30L.
But you can use the complete kit also to grow more plants in smaller pots,
for one big pot or to activate the soil in a certain part of your garden.
Just adjust the measurements mentioned in this guide to your situation.

Step 1

What you need

  • Coco coir tabs
  • Liquid Start
  • 500 ml Water
  • A bowl or container

Place the coco coir tabs in the bowl or container. Add 20 ml Liquid Start to 500 ml water. Pour this mixture over the tabs and wait till they are fully soaked.

*As coco coir is low in nutrients, this gives the plant a slow but steady start.  For a more vibrant start, use potting soil or your own preferred germination method. You can use the 2-3 ml/ per Liter Liquid Start during the first weeks and jump to step 4. You can use the coco coir to create a well aerated soil in step 4.

Place the coco coir tabs in the bowl or container. Add 20 ml Liquid Start to 500 ml water. Pour this mixture over the tabs and wait till they are fully soaked.

  • Compostable pots
  • Soaked coco coir
  • Seeds

Break down the soaked coco coir tabs and divide the coco coir over the compostable pots. Make a little hole (not to deep) in the middle and place a seed in it. Cover it with coco coir.

Place the filled pots in a propagator (or any other spot with high humidity). Wait till your seeds start germinating (average germination phase is 1 to 14 days).

  • 100 – 150 L soil
  • 5 pots
  • scale
  • Earth Base
  • Active Network
  • Active Start

 

After 3 to 4 weeks, roots will grow from the bottom of your pots. Now it’s time to prepare your soil.
Divide half of the soil equally over the 5 pots. Mix 50 gr/ per pot Earth Base, through the soil. Divide a quarter of the remaining soil equally over the pots. Sprinkle 5 gr/ per pot Active Network in the middle of the soil in the pot. Place your plant on top of it, so the roots touch the Active Network powder. Mix 250 gr Active Earth through the remaining soil and divide this mixture equally over the 5 pots.

  • 100 – 150 L soil
  • 5 pots

  • Active Network
  • Active Start

  • water

When you have transferred your plants to bigger pots, add Active Balance to the water once every 2 weeks. Use 0,5-1 gr per 10 Liters of water. Repeat this till 3 weeks before the harvest.

After you have transferred your plants to bigger pots, after 2 weeks, you can start with adding Liquid Earth to your water gifts. Add 2-3 ml Liquid Earth per Liter once every two water gifts.
